Austrian composer and educator Balduin Sulzer has passed away - aged 87.

A graduate of the University of Vienna, Bruckner Conservatory and the Vienna Academy of Music, Professor Sulzer served a long term teaching position on faculty at the Bruckner Conservatory, in Linz, Austria - his famed students including conductor Franz Welser-Möst, tenor Kurt Azesberger and the soprano Anna Maria Pammer.

He composed over 400 works during his lifetime - including four operas, a children’s musical, nine symphonies, twelve instrumental concertos - and a large body of chamber pieces.

Our condolences are with Professor Sulzer’s family, friends, colleagues and students.
