Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Appoints New Principal Guest Conductor
Patrick Hahn will be the next principal guest conductor of the Istanbul-based orchestra
The 25-year-old Austrian conductor will also as Artistic Advisor for two seasons, effective from 2021.
Patrick Hahn has performed as a guest conductor at the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra for over eight concerts.
Previously, he has debuted with major orchestras including the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and Camerata Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. In 2020, he was the youngest to ever be appointed as General Music Director of the Wuppertaler Bühnen und Sinfonieorchester GmbH.
"It has been a huge joy and privilege to have to been able to make music together so regularly with the incredibly talented and motivated musicians of the BIPO even during these unusual and challenging pandemic times," said Hahn in a statement.
