British double bassist, composer and arranger Tony Osborne has passed away – aged 71

British double bassist, composer and arranger Tony Osborne has passed away – aged 71.

A graduate of London's Royal Academy of Music, his works included a Requiem, brass quintet, a double bass concerto - plus an extensive range of double bass solo and ensemble pieces.

In 2001, he was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music - awarded to former students who have made a significant contribution to the music profession.
