19-year-old British double bassists Alex Ross and Siân Chambers have tragically died in a car accident

19-year-old British double bassists Alex Ross and Siân Chambers have tragically died in a car accident on the Lincoln Eastern Bypass in Lincolnshire, United Kingdom - in the early hours of Saturday 22nd of December.

The two musicians, both members of the Lincolnshire Youth Symphony, were pronounced dead at the scene after their Ford Mondeo Estate collided with a Citron C3 at high speed. 

A 26-year-old local man, who fled the scene, has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence - and of causing deaths by dangerous driving.

Alex was a current 2nd year student at London’s Royal Academy of Music.
