Finalists Announced at Denmark’s Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition

The three ensembles progressing to the Final Round of the 2019 Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition String Quartet Category have been announced

The three ensembles progressing to the Final Round of the 2019 Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition String Quartet Category have today been announced – in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The 2019 String Quartet Finalists are:

  • Balourdet String Quartet (United States)
  • Quatuor Elmire (France)
  • Simply Quartet (Austria)

The 2019 Wind Quintets Finalists are:

  • Ensemble Ouranos (France)
  • Pacific Quintet (Germany)
  • V Coloris (Denmark)

Open to ensembles of all nationalities under the age of 35, the 1st prize winning ensemble in each category will receive €15,000 ($17,000 USD).

The 2019 String Quartet Category jury comprises: Günter Pichler (Chairman), Asbjørn NørgaardGunvor SihmBjørg Lewis and David Geber.

The 2019 Wind Quintet Category jury comprises: Bjørn Carl NielsenOle Kristian Dahl,Ulla MiilmannMichael Hasel and Andreas Sundén.
