British cellist and pedagogue Eileen Croxford Parkhouse has passed away - aged 96.
A graduate of the Royal College of Music, in London, Mrs Parkhouse went on to serve a long time teaching position on faculty at the school.
She was the founder of the Parkhouse Award, a biennial international competition for emerging chamber music ensembles - providing valuable concert opportunities for its recipients across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Previous Parkhouse Award winners include the Fournier Trio - and the Faure and Notos Quartets.
Our condolences are with Mrs Parkhouse's family, friends, students and colleagues.
