Prizes Awarded at New York's Chappaqua Orchestra Concerto Competition

12-year-old violinist Kento Hong has been awarded 1st prize in the Junior Division of the 2019 Chappaqua Orchestra Concerto Competition

12-year-old violinist Kento Hong from the United States has this week been awarded 1st prize in the Junior Division of the 2019 Chappaqua Orchestra Concerto Competition - in Chappaqua, New York.

A student at Anne Setzer at The Juilliard School Pre-College, Kento will receive $1000 - plus a solo engagement opportunity with the Chappaqua Orchestra.

2nd and 3rd prizes in this year's Junior Division were awarded to 14-year-old pianist Christopher Zandieh and 17-year-old violinist Elli Choi.

21-year-old flutist Jaein Kim from the South Korea was awarded 1st prize in this year's Senior Division.

She will receive $2000 - plus a solo engagement opportunity with the Chappaqua Orchestra.
