Ohio's Columbus Symphony Orchestra Appoints New Assistant Conductor
The Columbus Symphony has announced the appointment of conductor Andres Lopera as its new assistant conductor
The Columbus Symphony, in Ohio, United States has this week announced the appointment of 34-year-old Colombian-born conductor Andres Lopera as its new assistant conductor - effective from September of this year.
Andres currently serves as assistant conductor with the Colorado Symphony.
“I am so excited to welcome Andres to the Columbus Symphony family … his passion, enthusiasm and unique background will be a tremendous asset to our goal of reaching diverse audiences in a meaningful and life-changing way,” Columbus Symphony Music Director Rossen Milanov has said.
As part of his responsibilities, Andres will oversee all six Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestras - as well as lead the Columbus Symphony's education, outreach and family concert series.
