Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan performing composer Vago Zakaryan‘s newly-premiered Violin Concerto – with conductor Eduard Topchyan and the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra.
Premiered on the 25th of September, 2018 at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall – in Yerevan, Armenia.
“When the main theme was created, the piece itself dictated its natural development …” Vago has told The Violin Channel.
“When it came to the composition of the cadence, I realized that the piece should be a cohesive, integral structure … the cadence does not create the sense of finality, but rather suggests future decisions …” the composer has said
“This was my first time collaborating with Sergey … I certainly took into account his original thinking, especially his performance of Beethoven’s and Shostakovich’s concertos … It helped me to find a suitable decision for the last movement of this work.”
