American conductor, composer and percussionist Harold Farberman has passed away - aged 89

American conductor, composer and percussionist Harold Farberman has passed away - aged 89.

A graduate of The Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory, Mr Farberman was a former member of the Boston Symphony - and served Principal Guest Conducting positions with the Denver Symphony, Colorado Springs Orchestra and the Oakland Symphony.

He was the founder of the Conductors’ Guild and Conductors’ Institute at the University of Hartford Hartt School of Music - Maestra Marin Alsop one of the notable graduates from the program.
