France's Orchestre des Pays de Savoie Announces New Music Director
The Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, in France, has announced the appointment of Dutch conductor Pieter-Jelle de Boer as its new Music Director
The Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, in France, has this week announced the appointment of Dutch conductor Pieter-Jelle de Boer as its new Music Director - effective from September 2021.
Pieter-Jelle previously served as Assistant Conductor of the Bordeaux-Aquitaine National Orchestra and Associate Conductor of the Accentus Choir - and has recently led performances with the National Orchestra of France, National Capitol Orchestra of Toulouse, the Symphony Orchestra of Mulhouse and the Avignon-Provence Regional Orchestra.
He will succeed French conductor Nicolas Chalvin in the role.
”I am extremely happy at the prospect of taking the musical direction of the Orchester des Pays de Savoie and I thank its public partners, its musicians and its management for the confidence they have shown in me ..." Pieter-Jelle has this week said.
"I want to introduce myself not only as a conductor but also as a full-fledged musician who is eager to share his ideas and his passion with the ensemble's equally passionate musicians," he has said.
"Pieter-Jelle de Boer is a complete and refined musician, today recognized as one of the most talented conductors of his generation - everyone is delighted with the appointment," a spokesperson for the ensemble has this week said.
