Dallas Symphony Orchestra Hosts Fifth Women in Classical Music Symposium
Hosted from November 12-15, 2023, the symposium will feature talks, panel discussions, performances, and networking events based on topics unique to women in the classical music industry
The fifth year of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s Women in Classical Music Symposium is about to kick off at The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, in Dallas, Texas.
Focused on inspiring women in the field of classical music, the symposium strives to help women reach their full professional potential, while also incentivizing broad-scale change in the industry.
The symposium will start with a special panel and performance titled "Striking the Chords of Resilience: The Power of Music in Ukrainian Survival Stories," which will feature conductor Anna Korsun, composer Victoria Vita Polevá, cellist Inbal Segev, and moderator Kim Noltemy, Ross Perot President & CEO, Dallas Symphony — with a musical performance by violinist Giyeon Yoon, cellist Minji Kim, and pianist Anastasia Markina.
This year, violinist Nicola Benedetti is the recipient of the Award of Excellence at the Women in Classical Music Symposium, which will host a keynote luncheon honoring Benedetti on November 14.
