The newly-formed Montclair Orchestra has today announced the appointment of violinist David Chan as their new Music Director
The newly-formed Montclair Orchestra, in New Jersey has today announced the appointment of violinist David Chan as their new Music Director - to lead the ensemble’s inaugural 2017-18 season.
David has served as Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 2000.
A former prize winner at the Tchaikovsky and Indianapolis International Violin Competitions, he currently in addition serves teaching positions on faculty at The Juilliard School and Mannes School of Music.
“David has an incredible command of the intricate details of various genres of music, yet has the ability to make the music accessible and relevant to the diverse audiences ….” Montclair Orchestra President, Andre Weker has said.
“We are incredibly excited and proud that he has elected to help pioneer our vision as an organization, and engage new sets of audiences through his programming and collaborations with different organizations …. ” he has said.
