Double Bassist Matt Brewer to Join San Francisco Conservatory Teaching Faculty

The San Francisco Conservatory has announced the appointment of double bassist Matt Brewer to its teaching faculty

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music has this week announced the appointment of double bassist Matt Brewer to its Roots, Jazz, and American Music teaching faculty – effective from September 2018.

A graduate of The Juilliard School Jazz Programme, where he studied with Rodney Whitaker and Ben Wolfe, Matt has previously served positions on faculty at the Mannes School of Music and the Banff Center.

“I’m proud to be joining the faculty of SFCM this fall ...” Matt has told The Violin Channel.

“The teachers here are among some of the best working musicians in the world ... the combined experience of this faculty provides students a unique, real-world opportunity to learn about music," he has said.
