Amsterdam-based violin maker and restorer Fred J. Lindeman has passed away - aged 84

Amsterdam-based violin maker and restorer Fred J. Lindeman has passed away - aged 84.

The son of instrument maker John W. Lindeman, Mr Lindeman joined his father in the family instrument business in 1957 - until his retirement in 2007.

He specialised in historically-informed performance practises - and in the process of converting or modernising stringed instruments to and from their original historical state.

Our condolences are with Mr Lindeman's family, friends and colleagues.
