English National Opera Closes Amidst Lockdowns

The Royal Opera House and the English National Opera have closed due to the newly imposed lockdowns in England
Due to surges in Coronavirus cases, a new lockdown begun on November 5. The country will close down restaurants, bars, and ‘non essential’ businesses such as hair salons and gyms.
A statement on their website reads, “Following the Prime Minister’s announcement that the England is to go in to a month long lockdown, English National Opera is sorry to announce that our upcoming performances of Mozart’s Requiem and John Adams El Niño will no longer be performed to a live audience.”
“It may be that we can reschedule these performances for next year but we will not know that for a few weeks and so you may wish to take a credit note for the value of your tickets.”
