Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition Announces Piano Duo Semi-Finalists

Tune in to watch the piano duos perform in the semi-final round on February 11

The 12th edition of the Franz Schubert and Modern Music Chamber Music Competition is currently taking place at the Kunstuniversität Graz.

The competition is split into three categories: Piano Trio, Duo Lied for piano and voice, and Piano Duo. The Semifinal and Final rounds of each category are being streamed LIVE on The Violin Channel!

The Piano Duo category has announced the ensembles moving on to the Semi-Final, being held on February 11. The duos are:

• Duo Crewir
• Duo Panova Gobbini
• Happy Dog Duo
• Hoinar Ensemble
• Książek Piano Duo
• Piano Duo Kalabova & Gugg
• Pianoduo K&K

The jury for the Piano duo category includes Sivan Silver-Garburg and Gil Garburg (chairs), Carlo Fabiano, Rico Gulda, Götz Schumacher, Adrienne Soós, Arie Vardi, Lena-Lisa Wüstendörf, and Shani Diluka.

The first prize includes € 9,000 plus individual career advice and support, second prize is worth € 6,500, and third prize consists of € 4,500.

There is a special prize of € 1,000 given for the best interpretation of a work by a female composer.
