Former New York Phil Concertmaster, Glenn Dicterow - 66 Today! [VIDEO]
Today is American violinist and former New York Philharmonic Concertmaster, Glenn Dicterow's 66th birthday.
A prodigy of Ivan Galamian, Jascha Heifetz and Henryk Szeryng, he currently teaches on faculty at The Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music - and holds the Robert Mann Chair in Strings and Chamber Music at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music.
Mr Dicterow served as Associate Concertmaster and Concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, before being appointed Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic in 1980 – a position he held until 2013.

His father Harold Dicterow served as Principal Second Violinist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic for 52 years.
