A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to raise support for composer Mary Kouyoumdjian - following the death of her fiancé, new-music composer and musician Matt Marks

An online GoFundMe campaign has been launched today to raise support for New York-based composer Mary Kouyoumdjian - following the tragic and unexpected death of her fiancé, new-music composer and musician Matt Marks on Friday.

Matt was a founding member of the New York Alarm Will Sound and the New Music Gathering contemporary music ensembles.

“These finances are intended to help alleviate the stress of any emergency costs that might arise during this difficult time … ” the campaign, started by Katie Balch from the Columbia University Department of Music, has said.

“Matt was an incredibly vital, energetic, and supportive force in the new music community … he will be greatly missed.”
