Grand Finalists Announced at Singapore International Violin Competition
Three violinists will compete for the top prize, alongside the Singapore Symphony Orchestra
Held at Singapore's Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, the Singapore International Violin Competition announced its Grand Finalists:
On Wednesday, December 14, the three violinists will perform concertos with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra conducted by Joshua Kangming Tan.
Over USD $110,000 in prizes will be awarded, along with multiple concert engagements. The cash prizes include:
First Prize: USD 50,000
Second Prize: USD 25,000
Third Prize: USD 15,000
Additionally, the top six winners will be given a 3-year fine violin loan from the Rin Collection. The instruments include:

1721 Montagnana, Domenico
1753 Guadagnini, Giovanni Battista
1793 Storioni, Lorenzo
1840 Pressenda, Giovanni Francesco
This year's jury comprises Qian Zhou (Chair), Martin Beaver, Martin T:son Engstroem, Lee Kyung Sun, Mihaela Martin, Joel Smirnoff, and Tsu Vera Weiling.
All SIVC live rounds are open to the public to attend. Previous major prize winners include VC Artists Yu-Chien Benny Tseng, Richard Lin, and Fedor Rudin.
