Houston Symphony — Associate Principal and Assistant Principal Viola

Founded in 1913, the Houston Symphony performs over 170 concerts for more than 350,000 people annually. Its 52-week season features a wide range of programming, from classical and pop to community-based projects.
The orchestra is currently seeking an Associate Principal Viola, Assistant Principal Viola, and a designated 5th Chair Viola.
Employment with the orchestra will include nine weeks of paid vacation; the 2023/24 minimum annual salary is $105,300, which is increasing to $109,200 for the 2024/25 season.
Other benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, instrument insurance, disability insurance, and pension contributions to the AFM-EPF.
Held at the Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, Houston, the preliminary and semi-final auditions will be on March 11, 12, and 13, 2024; the final rounds will be on March 19, 2024.
