Houston Symphony — Associate Principal 2nd Violin & Cello Substitute

All audition rounds will be held at the Jones Hall for the Performing Arts in Houston

Founded in 1913, the Houston Symphony performs over 170 concerts for more than 350,000 people every year, featuring classical, popular, educational, and community-based symphonic programming.

The audition application form for the following positions should be emailed here. The name of the position being applied for should be included in the subject line of the email.

Associate Principal Second Violin
Preliminary and semifinal rounds will be on December 14, 15, and 16, 2023. Final rounds will be on January 9, 2024.

The Houston Symphony has a 52-week season, including nine weeks of paid vacation. The minimum annual salary for the 2023/24 season is $105,300, which will increase to $109,200 for 2024/25. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, instrument insurance, disability insurance, and pension contributions to the AFM-EPF.
