Germany's Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie Announces New Chief Conductor
The Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie has announced the appointment of American conductor Jonathon Heyward as its new Chief Conductor
The Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, in Herford, Germany has this week announced the appointment of American conductor Jonathon Heyward as its new Chief Conductor - effective from January 2021.
A graduate of the Boston Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Music, Jonathon is a former Grand Prix winner at the Besançon International Conducting Competition - and a former recipient of a Dudamel Conducting Fellowship with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
He is currently in his 3rd year as Assistant Conductor with the Hallé Orchestra.
“I am thrilled to become part of the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie ...” Jonathon has said.
“The work I’ve done so far with the NWD has felt incredibly natural ... I think it’s a great orchestra with an extraordinary amount of musicianship and tremendous dedication,” he has said.
