BREAKING | 6 Junior Finalists Announced at 2018 Menuhin Competition

The 6 candidates progressing through to the Final stage of the 2018 Menuhin Competition Junior Division have been announced

The 6 candidates progressing through to the Final stage of the 2018 Menuhin Competition Junior Division, in Geneva, Switzerland, have just minutes ago been announced.

The 2018 Junior Division Finalists are:

  • Chloe Chua (11, Singapore)
  • Hina Khuong-Huu (13, United States/Japan/France)
  • Christian Li (10, Australia)
  • Ruibing Liu (13, China)
  • Guido Sant'Anna (12, Brazil)
  • Clara Shen (12, Germany)

"Whilst the competition's intention was always to have five junior finalists, our jury of eight simply couldn't agree between two of the candidates ... even after voting three separate times ..." Competition Artistic Director, Gordon Back has told The Violin Channel.

"We all felt artistically the fairest thing to do was to put both candidates through ... all six finalists are fantastic players, so let's give them all the opportunity," he has said.
