The Oslo Philharmonic has announced the appointment of Finnish cellist and conductor Klaus Mäkelä as its new Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor
The Oslo Philharmonic in Oslo, Norway, has this week announced the appointment of 22-year-old Finnish cellist and conductor Klaus Mäkelä as its new Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor - effective from August 2020.
A graduate of the Sibelius Academy, Klaus currently serves as Principal Guest Conductor of the Swedish Radio Symphony, Artistic Director of the Turku Music Festival - and as Artist-in-Association with the Tapiola Sinfonietta.
He will replace conductor Vasily Petrenko in the role.
