The Dresden Philharmonic has announced the re-appointment of 79-year-old German conductor Marek Janowski as its new Principal Conductor
The Dresden Philharmonic, in Dresden, Germany, has this week announced the re-appointment of 79-year-old German conductor Marek Janowski as its new Principal Conductor - effective from the commencement of the 2019-2020 season.
Maestro Janowski, who will succeed conductor Michael Sanderling in the leadership role, held the position from 2001 to 2003 - and will come out of retirement to return to the podium.
He has perviously served principal positions with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Symphony, Monte-Carlo Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
