The New West Symphony has announced the appointment of American conductor Michael Christie as its new Music Director
The New West Symphony, in Los Angeles, has this week announced the appointment of American conductor Michael Christie as its new Music Director.
The 44-year-old will succeed conductor Marcelo Lehninger - who stepped down from the ensemble at the conclusion of last season.
A graduate of Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, Michael previously served as Music Director of the Phoenix Symphony, the Colorado Music Festival and the Brooklyn Philharmonic - and recently led the world premiere performances of An American Soldier with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis - and The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs with the Santa Fe Opera.
