It has been announced today that British double bassist Misha Mullov-Abbado will release his debut album 'A New Ansonia', this Thursday 28th August – the same day as his mother, violin virtuoso Viktoria Mullova's latest disc.
The son of famed conductor Claudio Abbado, the talented 23 year old bassist is a former 1st prize winner of the coveted Kenny Wheeler Music Prize and been described by the London Jazz News as 'a hugely promising talent'.
Mother Mullova's latest release will feature Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2, Solo Sonata and Sonata for Two Violins - with violinist Ted Papravami, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony and conductor Paavo Jarvi.
