Applications are now open for the 2019 Montreal International Violin Competition
Applications are now open for the 2019 Montreal International Violin Competition – to be held in Montreal, Canada from the 26th of May to the 6th of June, 2019.
Open to violinists of any nationality aged 29 years or younger, the 1st prize winner will receive $30,000 CAD, a $50,000 CAD career development grant, a modern instrument crafted by a number of Quebec’s finest violin and bow makers - plus a residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
24 international violinists will be invited to Montreal to take part in the opening live round - with the travel and accommodation expenses covered for all selected participants.

Held triennially, previous Montreal International Violin Competition major prize winners include VC Artists Ayana Tsuji, Bomsori Kim, Minami Yoshida, Benjamin Beilman, Nikita Borioso-Glebsky, Stephen Waarts and Fedor Rudin.
