New York's Naumburg Concert Series To Pay All Musicians Even If Cancelled

The Naumburg Orchestral Concerts will honor its commitment in paying all musicians scheduled to perform during this year's summer season

The Naumburg Orchestral Concerts, in New York City, has this week announced its plan to honor its commitment in paying all musicians scheduled to perform during this year's summer season - in-spite of the possible need for all or some concerts to be cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Founded in 1905 and held in New York’s Central Park, the annual event is scheduled to take place from the 17th of June to the 21st of July, 2020 - though it will most likely not take place this year.

“Our series is based on a foundation of deep respect and admiration for the skill and talent of professional musicians ... at a time when the country’s performing artists are experiencing unprecedented financial hardship, and thousands upon thousands of public performances have been canceled, our board felt strongly that we needed to show our genuine support for the musical community,” Naumburg Orchestral Concerts President Christopher W. London has today said.
