New York Classic Violin Competition Announces Participants

As part of the Classic Violin Olympus International Competition, 20 violinists have been selected to compete at the Manhattan School of Music from May 27-31, 2024

The preselection process for the Classic Violin Olympus International Competition continues to press on, with further updates being released regularly. 

The competition's organizers have confirmed the contestant pool that will be going head-to-head at the New York Classic Violin Competition, which will be taking place at the Manhattan School of Music from May 27-31, 2024. 

This contest will be the third entry in the preselection series, with the selected violinists playing in front of a 5-person jury board composed of various globally acclaimed artists from around the world.

The participants will be competing over several rounds, the last of which will be streamed live online, challenging each other for a €35,000 prize fund, as well as the chance to win entry to the invite-only Classic Violin Olympus, which will be held in Dubai, UAE, from April 22-28, 2025. The Classic Violin Olympus will feature €310,000 worth of monetary prizes as well as other awards and opportunities for all finalists.

In the case that any of these 20 individuals find themselves unable to participate, the organizing committee has also released the names of the four participants numbered 21 to 24 who are being offered a position as reserves. These are:

  • Evan Pyne
  • Roni Shitrit
  • Wei Chun Tsao
  • Muyan Yang

 

Meanwhile, due to the unique nature of the Classic Violin Olympus preselection process, those candidates who were not selected for this competition are still able to apply for any of the four remaining contests in the series and be in with the chance of reaching the Grand Finale in Dubai in 2025.
