New York's Wittenberg Artists Signs Four New Artists
Two of the artists were previously signed with Columbia Artists Management, Inc., which shut down all operations last month
This week, the newly formed New York–based artist management company, Wittenberg Artists, announced four new signings.
Founded in June of this year by manager Martin Wittenberg, the agency now represents violinist Gidon Kremer and his Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra and Norwegian violinist Mari Samuelsen for North American management. Conductors Jean-Claude Picard and John Kennedy also join the agency for worldwide general management
"All of the new additions to the roster of Wittenberg Artists are superb musicians and I am equally thrilled to have each of them. As we emerge from the pandemic and a time of social unrest and reckoning, we will look to musicians that continue to defy routine and address the time we live in — something that Gidon Kremer has been doing for fifty years," Martin Wittenberg told The Violin Channel.
Martin has previous served artist management positions with Alliance Artist Management and Columbia Artists, guiding the careers of classical musicians including: Vadim Repin, Jordi Savall, Christian Zacharias, the Venice Baroque Orchestra, and the Spektral Quartet.
These musicians will join Wittenberg's roster of violinist VC Artist Stella Chen, cellist Steven Isserlis, pianists Eric Lu and Schaghajegh Nosrati, flutist Ana de la Vega, and conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya.
