The New Zealand String Quartet has today announced the appointment of Australian, Monique Lapins as their new second violinist.
The New Zealand String Quartet has today announced the appointment of 26 year old Australian, Monique Lapins as their new second violinist.
She will replace Douglas Beilman, who retired from the ensemble at the end of 2015 - after 26 years in the chair.
New Zealand’s only full-time string quartet, the ensemble currently serve as Quartet-in-Residence at Victoria University, in Wellington - and perform over eighty concerts per year, both domestically and abroad.
A graduate of the Australian National Academy of Music and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore, Monique has performed regularly with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and the Singapore Symphony.
