BREAKING NEWS | VC 'Young Artist' Nikki Chooi Awarded 1st Prize at Michael Hill International

Former VC 'Young Artist of the Week', 24 year old Canadian violinist Nikki Chooi has been awarded 1st Prize at the 2013 Michael Hill International Violin Competition – in Auckland, New Zealand

Sarah Christian, from Germany, was awarded 2nd - and the Chamber Music Bursary

Boston Mo, from Canada, was awarded 3rd Prize - and Natalie Lin, from New Zealand the Audience Prize

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, and current student of Ida Kavafian and Donald Weilerstein at The Juilliard School, Nikki is a former prize winner at the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions

He will receive NZ $40,000, a CD recording on the Atoll label, a recital tour - and a personalised professional development programme
