US Orchestra Iowa Announces Dawn Gingrich as New Concertmaster
Following a year-long national search, the Orchestra Iowa has today announced Dawn Gingrich as their new Concertmaster.
A graduate of the New England Conservatory and Eastman School of Music, Dawn has previously served Concertmaster roles with the Music Academy of the West Festival Orchestra, the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific.
“We are excited to welcome Dawn Gingrich to Orchestra Iowa,” Music Director, Timothy Hankewich has said, “ ... Ms. Gingrich has the experience, skill set and personality to make a great concertmaster for our musicians and an outstanding representative to the community.”
“I am looking forward to an exciting 2015/2016 season … ” Dawn has said, “... I really enjoyed my visits to Iowa this last season and am eager to continue collaborating with Timothy Hankewich, the rest of the Orchestra Iowa musicians and staff”.
She will succeed Luke Witchger, who left the orchestra in 2013 to continue his education at the Juilliard School.
