Belgium's Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie Appoints New Music Director

This week, the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, in Belgium, announced the appointment of Armenian pianist and conductor Vahan Mardirossian as its new Music Director
The 45-year-old will hold the position from September, 2020 to December, 2024.
Founded in 1958 by the Belgian violinist Lola Bobesco, the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie is Belgium's oldest orchestra.
"As the new musical director of the Orchester Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, I have a duty to continue the work of my illustrious predecessors. I thank them wholeheartedly for the legacy they left me. I am extremely moved to take over from some of my lifelong heroes, Lola Bobesco, Philippe Hirshhorn, Augustin Dumay and Frank Braley. I sincerely hope to be their worthy successor," Vahan said.
