Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2023 Announces Participants
The competition will be held from May 12th -18th, 2023, in Japan's Sumitomolife Izumi Hall
First presented in 1993, the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition is open to ensembles of all nationalities, whose members were born on or after May 1st,1984.
The triennial event celebrates the art of chamber music and has two sections: String Quartet and Piano Trio / Quartet.
The participating ensembles in the String Quartet section include:

- Moser String Quartet
- Rasa String Quartet
- Terra String Quartet
- Thaleia Quartet
- Vivace Quartet
The ensembles in the Piano Trio / Quartet section include:
- Albéniz Trio
- Trio Chagall
- Trio E.T.A.
- Trio Gaia
- Trio Michelangeli
- Trio Orelon
- Trio Pantoum
- Portus Trio
- Soleri Trio
- Capybara Piano Quartet
- Werther Piano Quartet
Chaired by Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, the jury is comprised of violinists Martin Beaver, Weigang Li, Kazuki Sawa, violist Monika Henschel, Mai Motobuchi, cellist Alasdair Tait, pianists Vincent Coq, Eckart Heiligers, and Shigeo Neriki.
The first prize winner will receive¥2,500,000, second prize ¥1,200,000, and third prize ¥800,000. Special Awards will also be given — including the ¥500,000 MK Memorial Award, Bordeaux String Quartet Festival Award, String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam Award, and “Ambassador Ensemble of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2023” Award.
