CPO Records has announced the release of English cellist Raphael Wallfisch's new album: 'Mieczysław Weinberg: Cello Concerto, Fantasy & Concertino.'

Recorded with conductor Łukasz Borowicz and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, the disc features Soviet-born Polish composer Mieczysław Weinberg's (1919-1996) Cello Concerto, 'Fantasy' & 'Concertino'.

"The three works for cello and orchestra by Mieczysław Weinberg complete my series 'Voices in the Wilderness' - five CDs of cello concertos by nine exiled Jewish composers ..." Raphael has this week told The Violin Channel.

"Weinberg's life story is incredible, and his many masterpieces, including these works, are now enjoying worldwide recognition," he has said.
