The new Evah Pirazzi Gold viola set contains new materials that provide a direct, soloistic sound with excellent projection

Pirastro is currently celebrating the ten-year anniversary of its much-loved Evah Pirazzi Gold violin string. These strings have a modern synthetic core, which gives them a brilliant, golden tone as well as excellent projection.

To commemorate the successful decade, Pirastro has decided to release a brand-new steel core Evah Pirazzi Gold set for the viola. These strings are extremely responsive to even the most subtle of bow changes and offer a direct, brilliant sound.

The D and G strings are wound with chrome steel, and the C is wound with fine tungsten wire. Both of these materials allow the player to access a larger, more soloistic sound, while also maintaining a warm A-string color.

Violists can now choose between three different versions of the Evah Pirazzi Gold sets:

— Steel/chrome-steel A, Silver D, and G, tungsten-silver C

— Steel/chrome-steel A, Silver D and G, rope core/tungsten C

— Steel/chrome-steel A, rope core/chrome steel D, rope core/chrome steel G, rope core/tungsten C
