Thomastik-Infeld is expanding the DOMINANT PRO® line to viola, with a dark and warm sound, superimposed by a slight sharpness

Thomastik-Infeld DOMINANT PRO® for viola (^NO.DP200) string set has been engineered to achieve a very fast and direct response, making them a great fit for professional orchestral musicians and soloists alike. The new strings can take high bow pressure and enable the player to convey a range of dynamics and tonal colors. They create a smooth transition that ideally combines the specific timbres of the individual strings.

The line is available for 4/4 violas in medium tension and includes the following strings:

A ^NO.DP21

The DOMINANT PRO® ^NO.DP21 A-string is made out of a carbon steel core with chrome outer material. It is easy to play and blends easily with the other strings. It has a long lifespan and a very minimal nasal component.

D ^NO.DP22

The DOMINANT PRO® ^NO.DP22 D-string is made out of a synthetic core with chrome outer material. It is building a harmonious bridge between the A and G-string with its balance of brilliance and dark timbre typical of the viola.

G ^NO.DP23

The DOMINANT PRO® ^NO.DP23 G-string is made out of a synthetic core with silver outer material. It has a direct response and creates a smooth transition to the C-string with a strong sound and slightly metallic component.

C ^NO.DP24

The DOMINANT PRO® ^NO.DP24 C-string is made out of a synthetic core with Tungsten/Silver outer material. It has a fast response and can maintain a large sound volume. Projection is ensured by metallic overtones.
