British cellist, teacher and author Penelope Lynex has died – aged 78.

A student of Douglas Cameron, Pablo Casals and Paul Tortelier, Ms Lynex served on the teaching faculty of London's Royal Academy of Music from 1973 and until 2001.

Our condolences are with her family, friends, students and colleagues.
