The Philadelphia Orchestra has announced long-serving violinist Herbert Light has stepped down from the ensemble after 56 years

The Philadelphia Orchestra has today announced long-serving violinist Herbert Light has stepped down from the ensemble after 56 years.

A graduate of the Philadelphia Musical Academy, where he studied with David Madison and Jani Santo, Herb served previously with the Baltimore Symphony before joining the Philadelphia Orchestra violinist section in 1960.
