Prizes Announced at Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition
The Rilian Trio received first prize, 15,000 EURO, and multiple festival engagements
Founded in 2000, Norway’s Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition (TICC) is held biennially, alternating between string quartet and piano trio editions for advanced and emerging artists worldwide.
Selected from an initial pool of nine participants for the 2023 edition, Trio Incendio, Trio Tokava, and Rilian Trio competed in the TICC final on September 30, in Norway’s Free Mason Hall.
- 1st prize and 15,000 EURO: Rilian Trio
- 2nd prize and 10,000 EURO: Trio Tokava
- 3rd prize and 5,000 EURO: Trio Incendio
The Rilian Trio also took home The Commission Prize (1,000 EURO) and the Audience Prize. The Jury's Special Prize went to Trio Tokava.
The winning ensembles will receive performance engagements, masterclasses, and a print by the renowned Norwegian artist Håvard Homstvedt. A jury special prize will also be awarded.
Chaired by Anthony Marwood, the jury comprises Anja Lechner, Arisa Fujita, Berit Cardas, Christian Ihle Hadland, Daniel Müller-Schott, and Stefan Mendl.
