Prizes Awarded at Poland's Jahnke National Violin Competition
20-year-old Barbara Żołnierczyk has been awarded 1st prize at the 10th Polish National Violin Competition Zdzisław Jahnke in Poznań, Poland
A student of jury member Bartosz Bryła and Karina Gidaszewskiej at the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music, she is a former top prize winner at the Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst, Karol Szymanowski and Serwaczyński International Violin Competitions.
Joint 2nd prize was awarded to 19-year-old Wiktoria Białostocka and 17-year-old Wojciech Niedziółka.
3rd prize was awarded to 21-year-old Justyna Grudzień. Joint 4th prizes was awarded to 22-year-old Bartosz Skibiński and 21-year-old Karolina Podorska.
Open to violinists studying at Polish music schools and Polish citizens between the ages of 16 and 30 years old, $7600 will be divided amongst this year's laureates.
The 2020 jury comprised: Bartosz Bryła (Jury Chair), Łukasz Błaszczyk, Andrzej Gębski, Wiesław Kwaśny, Adam Mokrus, Jarosław Pietrzak, Paweł Radziński and Małgorzata Skorupa.
