Prizes Awarded at Switzerland's Junior Tibor Varga Violin Competition

17-year-old Lora Markova from Bulgaria has been awarded 1st prize at the 2021 Junior Tibor Varga International Violin Competition, in Sion, Switzerland
A student of Blagorodna Taneva at the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music School in Sofia, Lora is a former major prize winner at the Andrea Postacchini, Odessa, Leonid Kogan, and il Piccolo Violino Magico Violin Compeitions. She will receive CHF 5,000.

2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 15-year-old Anais Feller from the United States and 15-year-old Moë Dierstein from Germany.
The 2021 jury comprised: Pavel Vernikov (President), Alexia Eichhorn, Dong-Suk Kang, Noémie Robidas, and Thomas Jung.
In a new initiative, all candidates who did not make it to the final round of this year's competition were also invited to join the jury.
