Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust Offers £18,000 to Young Luthiers
The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) is a British art, craft, and educational trust that helps to ensure authentic British craftsmanship
The goal of QEST is to support young individuals in the fundamental stages of their careers and to provide opportunities for them.
This scholarship will help to fund students' training to become luthiers, whether that be through college courses or one-on-one training sessions.
The student recipients will have the opportunity to study with masters in the art of instrument-making and instrument repair.
The trust holds two application rounds per year — one in January, the other in July.
The next application will open on July 12, 2021, and close on August 16.
Along with this scholarship application, QEST also offers a £12,000 apprenticeship for students looking to improve and broaden their skills in craftsmanship.
Previous recipients of the QEST funding include Shem Mackay, Tom Sands, Jon Letcher, Charles Collis, and Martin Penning.
