SAD NEWS | Eminent Russian Violinist & Teacher Grigori Zhislin Has Died

Russian violinist and pedagogue Grigori Zhislin has passed away - aged 71

Russian-born violinist and pedagogue Grigori Zhislin has passed away - aged 71.

A student of Yuri Yankelevich at the Moscow Conservatory, he was a former 1st prize winner at the Paganini International Violin Competitions and former silver medallist at the Queen Elisabeth Competition.

Mr Zhislin served longterm professorships at London’s Royal College of Music and Germany’s College of Music Würzburg - his famed students including lya Grubert, Dmitri Sitkovetsky, Nicolas Koeckert, Daniel Hope and Sergey Khatchatrian.

Our condolences are with Mr Zhislin’s family, friends, colleagues and students.
