Professor Galkovsky served with the Shostakovich String Quartet from 1972 until 2004 - and held a long term teaching position on faculty at the Moscow Conservatory

Russian violist Alexander Galkovsky has passed away.

He served with the Shostakovich String Quartet from 1972 until 2004 - and held a long term teaching position on faculty at the Moscow Conservatory.

Our condolences are with Mr Galkovsky's family, friends, colleagues and students.
