American cellist Toby Saks has passed away – aged 71

A student of Leonard Rose, Ms Saks was a former prize winner at the Casals and Tchaikovsky International Cello Competitions – and served a coveted position from 1971-1976 with the New York Philharmonic

Ms Saks also served as a founding member of the Seattle Chamber Music Society
