Struggling Oregon Chamber Orchestra Files for Bankruptcy
The Salem Chamber Orchestra, in Oregon, USA has today announced they will file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
The announcement comes just days after the orchestra’s Board of Directors cancelled the remaining concerts of the 2015-16 season - due a significant decline in donations and ticket sales.
“We realized we weren’t going to get the funding we need in such a short period of time,” Board President, Rebecca Kueny has told The Statesman Journal.
“SCO is beyond thankful to all of our patrons, donors, musicians, staff and volunteers,” she has said, “… we’re beyond appreciative for all of the outstanding performances we’ve had in the past 30 years.”
The professional ensemble was founded in 1984 by Willamette University Professor, Bruch McIntosh.
